John Thielen was raised in Houston, TX where he attended Bellaire High School, at the same time working construction for Bayou Constructors and selling signage for a company called Bellaire Signs. During high school, John excelled in academics and sports. John attended Stephen F. Austin University, where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in general business with a minor in Finance in 2009. Shortly after graduation, John moved back to Houston, where he met his wife Emily and started a sign company called Streamline Signs. His company specialized in signage for freestanding emergency rooms and hospitals. It was a big success, as John began making numerous sales of large-scale sign projects. John spent three years growing the business until ultimately selling it to his business partner. This was a perfect time to make a change and move to the mountains of Silverthorne, Colorado.
John and his wife lived at 9000 ft. above sea level and enjoyed skiing and summiting the highest mountains in Colorado. While in Colorado, he managed a Sports Authority, that was consistently one of the most profitable, highest-grossing stores of the company's 463 stores. John won various awards and was recognized often for his store’s stellar numbers, customer service, and overall management. The store did roughly 9 million dollars in sales annually. Unfortunately, the company filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in 2016. After bringing the store to closing, John began to manage a warehouse for Pure-Agro. The company distributed goods for a variety of different agricultural businesses. John excelled in this position as well, bringing costs down and revenue up. The business was based out of Fort Collins, Colorado, and had 7 different warehouses. He was recognized multiple times in a short period as the employee of the month. The company was forced to move out of Silverthorne after the lease expired and the building it occupied, was sold to develop condominiums in its place. This was in September of 2018 and John was given the option to move cities and help consolidate the warehouse, with another existing warehouse in Pueblo, Colorado. Instead, he decided to look for a new permanent place to settle down and establish a career in Real Estate.
John and his wife decided to move to Knoxville and bought a home in the Rocky Hill area, on December 1st of 2018. They enjoy hiking, biking, walking their dog, and getting involved in their new city. John earned his Real Estate License in June of 2019 and joined the National Association of REALTORS, Tennessee Association of REALTORS, and the Knoxville Area Association of REALTORS in July of 2019. John looks forward to serving the real estate needs of Knoxville and its surrounding areas.
